Summary Modern world market is confronted with fast and contiguous changes that manifest in offer dynamics of large and varied products, their aging, high quality and low-price requirements of customers in order to achieve specific requirements for particular market. In that conditions of unsparing world market competitiveness, fast, cheap and quality manufactured product is crucial what requires optimal machining process definition and implementation. Primary advantage of high-speed machining is drastic enhancement of cutting speed and feed rate value, as well as shortening machining time, what contributes to production costs reduction and production ability enhancement. Purpose of research: to shorten machining time with appliance of high-speed machining and modern cutting-tool materials in pile production for hammering and casting as well as for making parts and components in machine-building. Acquired cognitions and settings would enable further appliance of this modern technology on machining of other kind of products as well. Hypothesis: Usage of experimental methods enables ability to analyze influence of particular impact factors on machinability criteria. It is possible to statically analyze most influencing factors and get mathematical models. Those models can be used for high-speed machine systems programming as well as for optimization of analyzed impact factors. Expected results: Mathematical models that show machined characteristics functional dependence, during particular high-speed machinability processes (e.g. tool-wear and durability, cutting forces, surface roughness), in relation to input factors, as well as getting reliable technological data-bases for constructed construction of high-speed machining. Research results would be checked in laboratory for production systems and then if results occur to be positive, results would be applied and tested in regional companies. Significance of proposed research: With appliance of high-speed machining, accomplishment of listed criteria can be expected. Educational programs for engineers on University of Split should profit with possibility of development this research, results alteration. Proposed project should ensure unique opportunities, to all students for cooperation with various researchers.
