Summary Project is a continuation of present work on complex system modelling
and control, particularly applying intelligent and agent technologies.
It is directly associated with the present project ''Intelligent agents
in modelling and control of the complex systems''.
Main difference between present and future work is not only in
development and implementation of new methods and ideas, but also in
the application area.
All researches in this project framework are primarily oriented towards
environmental protection and implementation of agent-oriented,
intelligent information-communication technologies in environmental
monitoring and protection systems.
Projects has several subtasks dealing with different aspects of
agent-oriented intelligent technologies development and implementation
in acquiring, transmission, storing and presentation of environmental
data, with special emphasis on costal and islands region protection,
particularly forest fire protection:
1) Agent-oriented intelligent environmental monitoring and protection
system is a fundamental project part which integrates all others project
tasks, from planning and organisation of sensory networks to
acquisition, processing, storing and representation of acquired data.
Principal part of the research is working out and developing multi-agent
system composed of intelligent agents integrated in the environment in a
way they are becoming a part of the environment, providing intelligent
self-surveillance and self-protection capabilities.
2) Agent oriented sensory network semantic and syntactic surveillance
system is another project subtask. It's integral part of the main
project, but also an independent research task applicable in other
distributed and dislocated sensory grid systems based on network
embedded sensory units. This research is partly connected with semantic
3) Ecological sensor unit, based on fusion of the intelligent vision
sensor and other sensors signals, is the third project part. The goal of
this subtask is enhancement of the existing sensory units, based on the
vision sensors, by fusing visual signal and signals from other sensors
and integrating advanced digital signals and digital image analysis. The
research will be of general nature too, but the main case study will be
environmental protection, particularly forest fire monitoring.
